Free Creative Workshop with Local Whitstable Artists:
Michelle Goggi & Trish Flynn Instagram @trish.flynn

Join local artists Michelle Goggi and Trish Flynn for a two-hour creative workshop designed to help you feel the fear and do it anyway. Inspired by the principles of process and outsider art, this session is all about creating from a place of joy, curiosity, and play — with no pressure, no expectations, and no need for prior experience.

Come along to make, explore, and collaborate with others in the Whitstable community. You’ll have the chance to paint, experiment, and share in a creative conversation that celebrates expression over outcome.

All materials (paint and paper) are provided — just bring an apron and an open mind.

FREE and no booking needed — simply drop in and create!

Whitstable Squared - if I knew then........

Join artist Caroline as she shares the unexpected journey of creating Whitstable Squared. What started as a lightning bolt idea became a five-month obsessive drawing odyssey: 512 hand-drawn squares (each just 25x25mm) that became a love letter to her seaside town, all drawn from her own photographs taken during adventures around Whitstable.

This presentation explores the unexpected challenges and revelations of working within such rigid constraints, the discipline required to maintain quality across 500+ miniature works, the creative decisions that shaped the project, and lessons learned along the way. Discover how a mathematical framework liberated rather than limited her creativity, and what this intensive process taught about observation, perseverance, and artistic evolution.
